Nature + Learning Camps
ACES camps transform the local environment into a community classroom inspiring a greater sense of place, passion for learning, relationship building, and environmental stewardship. Campers conduct investigations every day outside, working together as they ask questions. Programs instill curiosity in campers and educate for environmental responsibility. This year, they are excited to offer a variety of camp options, including Mimicking Nature’s Architects, Hit the Trail, Farmer’s Kitchen and Wild Exploration. In The Story of the Forest, campers will create artistic representations of ecological stories. In Ranch Hands, kids will have hands-on experiences with regenerative agriculture. In all of our camps, kids investigate, discover, and explore. Note: Online registration opens March 1.
Simply put, parents love ACES. The organization partners with more than 60 schools from Aspen to Rifle, CO to provide environmental education programs in the classroom and field. In addition to science education, ACES also focuses on sustainable food systems and regenerative agriculture, forest health, habitat restoration, and connecting adults and children to nature. It operates Rock Bottom Ranch near Willits/ Basalt and the Hallam Lake Preserve in Aspen.
Take a winter farm tour, a guided snowshoe or ski trek or a birding class.
ACES programs include a range of topics that combine environmental science education with outdoor exploration. For example, students conduct investigations every day outside, working together as they ask questions. Programs instill curiosity in campers and educate for environmental responsibility. Summer camps run all summer long.
