MP asked. Students answered.

You’ll find us doing different activities –

going on a hut trip, biking in the desert, swimming on the shores of Lake Powell, walking in the ruins of Peru, talking to senators in DC. I’ve done things I would have never done otherwise. ACDS even offers the middle school kids a chance to go on trips with lower school grades to be outdoor ed leaders. I loved doing this…”  Max Marshall, ACDS grade 8

“One thing I learned from home was to look for silver linings.” Charlie Jay ACDS grade 1

MP Covid Classroom update

First Day of School: Monday, August 24

This is an earlier start than Aspen Country Day School’s traditional after-Labor-Day opening.  The early start date is possible because Aspen Music Festival and School, which shares the campus with ACDS, has sadly needed to cancel their programming for this summer. These extra weeks will allow the school to introduce health and safety protocols and have more instructional days on the calendar if flexibility is needed later in the school year.

On Campus? Yes!

ACDS will reopen with a Traditional Modified Plan:

• All students attend class on campus
• Wellness screening
• Health and hygiene precautions will be taken

ACDS will rely on guidance from local, state, and national public health officials to stay safe, healthy, and open.

Should local COVID infections rates rise, ACDS has announced that is prepared to implement 3 COVID-adapted educational models:

• Traditional Reduced – same as Traditional Modified with additional social distancing.
• Hybrid – a blend of Traditional and Remote learning, with small pods of students on campus in alternating groups.
• Remote – no students on campus; all learning will be delivered remotely.

From Head of School Josh Wolman:

“The situation is dynamic, but we likely will not return to pre-coronavirus “normal” for some time. Some practices will be with us for the foreseeable future: health and safety precautions, a certain amount of social distancing, and above all, an increased awareness of how we are all connected in community.”

Fun Fact: Aspen Country Day School celebrates its 50th ANNIVERSARY this school year!

Are there still spaces available for this school year?  Yes, depending on the grade. LEARN MORE HERE.
