Day Camp + Extended Hours

Variety Camps
Come play with the Aspen Recreation Department during summer break. All camps are state-licensed programs designed for youth 5-10-years-old. Kids who are 5-years-old must be in Kindergarten. Days will be packed full of fun activities such as swimming, skating, climbing, hiking, and rafting. The camp provides an opportunity for children to be challenged each day. The campus and setting provide equal access to nature and indoor amenities. Traditional team building and camp games will be played, along with trips and excursions to adventures around the valley. Whitewater rafting is always a popular choice and helps families give their kids a high-adrenaline experience that they might not be able to do themselves. The camp is ideal for working parents in the summer, with hours that compliment a full workday.

Offering vibrant art exhibitions for the public to view, along with ongoing youth art classes and summer camps, The Red Brick Center Center for the Arts is one of our favorite family-friendly destinations in Aspen. The Red Brick Center for the Art’s mission of creating colorful community starts with the youngest of artists.

After school Art Play Classes: Afterschool Art Play is a chance for elementary age children to be creative, learn through art and have fun with friends. For the rest of the 2021 school year, Afterschool Art Play will require registration for 4 weekly classes occurring on Wednesdays. See the full detail in the Mountain Parent Activity Finder here.

Camps: During the summer the Red Brick provides week-long day camps where children explore different themes each week through a variety of mediums such as papier-mâché, ceramics, mosaic, painting, and collage. In addition to art making, campers will venture outside for a picnic and play in the park and enjoy weekly field trips to experience and see art in Aspen.
